2020.10.06 - Y Cloud Update

I hope you and your dear ones are doing well. We wanted to provide a few quick updates on the Y Cloud products. As of this writing, we are excited to announce that we have 125 Y associations (499 Y branches) signed up to our product offerings and we are working very hard to deliver to you. All the details of the Y Cloud can be found here .

  1. Virtual Y:
    • Several Y’s are in the process of launching the Virtual Y to your local communities.
    • Internally we are working to automate the deployment process, in-take workflow, etc. This is to reduce the overhead, minimize manual effort, thereby reducing our cost over time.
    • We would like to understand how you are planning to use the Virtual Y. If your Y has submitted the in-take form for Virtual Y, can you please do us a favor and fill this quick survey. This will help us plan the future product roadmap.
  2. YMCA Universal App:
    • We have completed the pilot phase for the YMCA Universal App. As an outcome of the pilot, we have collected valuable feedback that will be applied to the mobile app.
    • We are currently targeting to complete the minimum viable product (MVP) by the end of October. In parallel, we are also rapidly completing the negotiations on the license fee agreement and the legal process. Our goal is to publish the license fee structure when the MVP is launched.
  3. Y Cloud communications:
    • We are planning to post all updates on the Y Cloud Announcements website here.
    • Occasionally, we will be sending updates from the Y Cloud mailbox.
    • By nature of our agile software development methodology, we will be pushing changes, fixes, updates, security controls, etc. periodically. This would be planned for known changes and sometimes unplanned for unknown or critical items. Our current planned change window is bi-weekly on Wednesday’s after 7 pm CT. This would be a rolling deployment with minimal to no impact to your micro-site functions. We will also communicate any updates to help you understand new features available. For example, the upcoming Wednesday will roll-out the below features:
      • Event series (live streaming & meetings) will no longer become stuck loading content when the body of the event is blank.
      • Event series (Live Streams & Virtual Meetings) have more flexible recurrence options
      • Virtual Meetings with Zoom links will now behave more predictably and prompt users to open the meeting when they are ready.
    • To see the full list of items, please visit the Y Cloud Announcements here.
  4. Y Cloud webinar:
    • We are planning to host a webinar on Wednesday October 21st between 11 am and 12 pm Central Time to provide updates on the Y Cloud, Universal app and Virtual Y. Please look forward to the webinar registration in the Executive News and posted on the Link. You can register to the webinar here
