2020.11.04 - Virtual Y Updates and Enhancements

We have another set of updates to apply to your Virtual Y website within the Y Cloud. We have pulled in new features from the Open Y Team that will further enhance your site with us. 

New Features

Today’s update will include features from Open Y 8.2.6.5 and Virtual Y 1.0. 

Highlights from these updates include 

      • Preparation for user segmentation.  The underlying site will now support the ability to divide your customer base into 3 tiers: free, standard, and premium. 

        • This update does require minor custom development in order to match up unique membership types between your CRM and Virtual Y to use. 

        • This update does not support the Daxko Barcode service just yet.  Additional changes are required within Daxko to allow this to apply. Daxko has a release in mid-November to enhance the service. We’ll be evaluating things then to see what can be done. 

      • Video and Blog posts will now break up content into 12 results per page 

      • Blog posts can now be tagged with categories.

        • If anyone sees a blog post not load correctly, please double check a category has been assigned.

      • A single content item may be tagged with multiple categories 

      • Recaptcha has been removed as an option from the Daxko Barcode Service options.  The Drupal platform has built in abuse protection that is now being leveraged. 

      • Members logging into the site will now show in the "People" menu item of the administration section.  This is normal and will enable Virtual Y to enforce session length in the future.  These users may be filtered out via the filter controls.

Basic content sharing 

      • You can now share content with other associations.  Likewise, you may flag content as shareable. 

      • Shared content filters will allow you to search for content by category 

      • You may also see which content items are most popular. A tally is available that indicates how many Ys are using the item.  

 Bug Fixes 

      • Virtual meetings lacking descriptions will now load properly 

      • Instructor names will now display on recurring virtual meetings 

      • Login failures with Personify SSO will no longer generate two error messages 

      • Virtual Y sites using the Daxko Barcode authentication method will now properly record unique information in the activity log thus easily differentiating your members.
